Principal dancer with Czech National Ballet. Zvonař is an elegant dancer with exceptional technique of danseur noble, an amazing soloist as well as dancer partner in pas de deux. His artistry, natural talent and intelligence makes his characters alive on stage and helps him create and dance in any dance technique from classical ballet to contemporary styles with the same success and a sense of accomplishement. He was named a Principal dancer in 2018, he was also a Soloist with Bayerische Staatsballett in Munchen.
Born in Pilsen, graduated from Dance conservatory of Prague, trained in Washington D. C. with Suzanne Farrell. During his studies he won 3rd prize in Junior category at International ballet competition in Brno (2006) and 2nd prize in Pas de deux category and 3rd prize in Professional category at Prix Carpeaux Valencien.
He joined Czech National Ballet in 2009, in 2011 he was named a demi soloist, in 2012 a soloist. He danced the roles of prince Siegfried in Swan Lake (Greve), prince Désiré in Sleeping Beauty (Torres) and the main male part in Theme and Variations by George Balanchine.
In years 2013 – 2017 he was a demi soloist with Bayerische Staatsballett. In Munchen he danced in many roles of world class repertory such as Mercutio and Paris in Romeo and Juliet (Cranko), Gaston Rieux in The Lady of the camelias (Neumeier), Lensky in Onegin (Cranko) or Konrad and Ali in Le Corsaire (Liška, Fullington), soloist role in In the Night (Robbins), Unitxt (Siegal) and Choreatium (Masin).
In 2017 he came back to Czech National Ballet, where he was named a principal dancer in 2018. His principal roles include prince Siegfried (Swan Lake; Cranko), Solor (La Bayadère; Torres), Bobbie / prince Nutcracker (Nutcracker – A Christmas Carol; Vàmos), Colas (La Fille mal gardée; Ashton) and the title role of Onegin (Cranko).
He also danced in ballets by George Balanchine (Serenade), Petr Zuska (1st symphony in D major), Michael Corder (Snow Queen), Jan Kodet (The Sorcerer’s apprentice / Krabat), Libor Vaculík (Valmont)or Jiří Kylián (Petit Mort, Bella Figura) and Glen Tetley (The Rite of Spring).
He won an annual Opera Plus Award for his solo part in Unitxt, in 2012 and 2016 he was one of the nominees for Thalia Award. With his on and off stage partner Radka they competed in many ballet competitions. In 2010 he won the main prize at International ballet competition Grand Prix Olomouc as well as a prize for the best individual dancer at II International choreographic competition in Pilsen. In 2018 he and Radka joined the russian TV competition Bolshoi Ballet and were the first foreign dance couple to compete.
He danced in many international galas and tours in Spain, South America or China. In 2018 he danced at gala in Karlsruhe (with Czech National Ballet soloist Kristýna Němečková) and at Festival Internacional de Ballet de la Habana „Alicia Alonso“ in Cuba (alongside Czech National Ballet principal dancer Nikola Márová).
